Timo (Timothy Meyerring) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1963, and is a self taught abstract expressionist painter. He owns Timo Gallery, his workspace and showcase, located in the heart of Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward District.
His original painting, “Earthen Abstract,” a watercolor triptych with oil & wax, which sold in reproduction format at Crate & Barrel, was the top selling piece of wall art in the US for seven seasons in a row. Timo had 14 top sellers at Crate & Barrel, 6 with Pier 1 Imports, and 21 with Baker Furniture.
Timo, who represents himself at his working studio & gallery, Timo Gallery, has many exclusive partners throughout the Milwaukee Metro area, where his original paintings are on display and are available for sale, including: Ardent, Dan Dan, Harley’s Men’s Store, Lucky Ginger, Thief Wine, Swig & Water Buffalo.
As a painter, Timo continuously strives to innovate and to provide beauty for his clients, working in oil, acrylic, encaustic, watercolor, pastel, gilding, charcoal, and pen & ink, on multiple substrates in his downtown studio. He also does works in photography, which were sold at Crate & Barrel as print reproductions.
Timo received his BFA in Graphic Design from Arizona State University in 1997, and did design work for the band R.E.M. (1997 Holiday Fan Club Package), and for Microsoft (Windows 2000 package design suite). He was a finalist in 2008 at the Independent Music Awards for both Best Album Packaging and Band Venue Poster, which was judged by Snoop Dogg.
Prior to his career as an artist, Timo worked in hospitals across the US as a Respiratory Therapist.
